Rocket League has been popular with players since its launch and brings together what (admittedly involuntarily) belongs together: cars and football! The racing game of a different kind is the embodiment of the game principle »Easy to learn, hard to master«. At least that was the case so far, because the new mode heatseeker could make the game a whole lot easier.
It appears on April 16 from 6:00 p.m. for all platforms and gives the already chaotic game its own twist. However, you should hurry, because heatseekers are only available until April 20.
How does Heatseeker work?
Aiming becomes superfluous: In Heatseeker, the ball turns into a kind of heat-seeking rocket: You play on normal fields in 3v3 mode, but after you have touched the ball, it automatically flies towards the goal.
In typical Rocket League fashion, the whole thing has a crazy twist: after each touch, the ball gets faster and faster and thus causes chaos on the court. The winner is whoever scored seven goals first.
The developers show what this looks like in practice in a first short trailer:
First new mode in a long time: In fact, it's been a while since we were allowed to play a completely new mode in Rocket League. The last events were mostly new versions of modes that had already been released, and the latest updates and Battle Passes also brought little new in this direction. In this respect, a completely new idea is definitely a welcome change, even if it is only limited in time.
It's not the first time that Rocket League has added new, even crazier modes to its rotation. For example, we already had basketball instead of football as a fixed game mode, or just a stranger things crossover last year. And who knows, maybe a crazy expansion awaits us soon, which will last even longer this time?
