Terraria – Latest expansion Journey's End adds bestiary and bosses.
The last big update for Terraria with the appropriate title "Journey's End" has a release date. After more than nine years since the sandbox game was first released, the update marks the end of content enhancements for 2D Minecraft. The developer Re-Logic will then devote himself to his second game project.

What's in Journey's End?
Work on the last free content load took over a year. It was announced on May 29, 2019. Journey's End will be released on May 16, 2020. The studio lists the most important innovations on the official website:
- Items: There will be over 800 new items that you can find or make
- Monster: You will meet new enemies.
- World generation: The creation of the world is improved. Among other things, you will be able to discover new mini biomes.
- Lore: Thanks to a new bestiary, you will learn more about the defeated monsters and thus the background story of the game world.
- Golf: You will be able to practice the sport in Terraria.
- Difficulty levels: If you want a special challenge, you will find a new level of difficulty.
- Quality of life: Playing with things like "block swap" and "void vault" should be made more pleasant.
- Graphic: There will be new and improved weather effects.

What's next?
The team already said in 2019 that after "Journey's End" they don't want to release another update for Terraria. There will be a maximum of minor bugfixes and possibly balancing patches appear.
Above all, the Re-Logic team wants to dedicate next game project. So far the studio itself is not sure what exactly it will be. A Terraria 2, which was announced in 2013, is not excluded. However, work on a spin-off called Terraria Otherworld was officially stopped in 2018.
