We do not have iphones with Bluetooth 6 yet – in fact, only a few second -level Android phones even claim to support it so far. But that does not stop the Bluetooth group, which conforms to its cadence twice a year and the announcement of the Bluetooth 6.1 specification.
You will remember that the Bluetooth 6 specification has added a new impressive channel survey capacity which would give it a precise location and follow -up, similar to Ultra Wideband, in addition to certain new features that can improve latency and flow.
The Bluetooth 6.1 update focuses on a new feature called RPA randomisse (resoluble private address). This feature allows the time of RPA address changes, which improves confidentiality. Your Bluetooth device and those to which it connects can change its address sometimes that cannot be planned, which makes it more difficult for espionage devices to follow your activity or location. To improve energy efficiency, this address change operation can be discharged at the Bluetooth controller instead of the device processor, which will allow the battery life.
We expect the first premium phones to support Bluetooth 6 this fall, and this could very well include the iPhone 17. It is quite possible that these also support these new Bluetooth 6.1 features, in particular given Apple's enthusiasm for confidentiality and energy efficiency.
