This is behind the conspiracy quest

Warning: the following paragraph contains spoilers

The NPCs Istiana and Arzagos are two key characters in the history of the game because they are an extremely important part of the quest that requires us to restore the dragon's banner – after which we can finally start our own kingdom.

In the next step of the main quest series, we have to make a decision: Do we want to help Arzagos finish the crumbling empire? Or do we support Istiana in reviving the empire?

No matter which option we choose: One of the two becomes our enemy and plans a conspiracy to destroy us. Our job is to stop this conspiracy.

However, it is currently not possible to stop the conspiracy: Neither Istiana nor Arzagos can be killed if we visit them in their homes. We can only wait until the conspiracy bar fills up completely and a big war breaks out, in which we have to either wipe out the empire or its adversaries.

Errors regularly occur: During the quests it can happen that a task is incorrectly displayed as failed, but later reappears as active. This is particularly annoying when you are just waiting for the conspiracy bar to fill up – which already takes half an eternity anyway.

Mount & Blade 2 is still in early access

The current state of the quest shows why Mount & Blade 2 was released in early access: While the open world gameplay already works for the most part, the story quests are still struggling with problems.

We can only hope that developer Taleworlds Entertainment's weekly patches for Bannerlord will not only fix bugs and improve performance, but will also improve as soon as possible takes care of the quest problems.
