During the past April 14th, many players who tried to connect to play online games like Star Wars: Battlefront II or even FIFA 20, they found out that it was impossible for them. For an unknown reason, online games for EA games could not be done in any way. The reason? A DDoS attack It was saturating the company's servers, a rather inappropriate initiative given the situation that is being experienced globally.
A problem that has lasted for hours, and that Electronic Arts itself has had to communicate in public to prevent players from worrying excessively. As reported from the account of EA Help on Twitter, the company's services affected were Origin, EA Help and any type of online game. Fortunately, although it has been a job that has required a good number of hours, the activity was returning to normal. "The problems affecting EA services and EA Help have already been resolved, thanks for sticking with us!"They commented within a few hours.
Today we experienced a series of DDoS attacks that we’ve now been able to resolve. If you're still having trouble logging in, please contact us.

"Today, we have experienced a series of DDoS attacks that we have already been able to resolve", they explain from EA through one of their official Twitter accounts. The team wanted to call for calm, ensuring that everything is under control and that the activity is returning to normal. Even so, they invite users to contact them if they continue to have problems log into your accounts to play online.
Everything is already working properly, but the stoppage of activity began yesterday April 14 in the morning, and did not end until well into the morning of this April 15. Many hours held in times of coronavirus, and all because of a malicious attack that has prevented thousands of players from enjoying their games online.
Online gaming and coronavirus, a more controlled combination than ever
Playing online has always been an activity totally linked to current consoles, and one that has also been much more controlled in recent weeks. With the forced confinement because of COVID-19, companies have had to take steps to avoid saturation of your servers. Thus, we have been able to see initiatives such as the one recently taken by Sony, which limited download speeds so that there were no problems when using all of its online services.
Cases like this have been seen on many other platforms, as YouTube has done by changing the quality standard of its videos, and are proof that the internet and online games have become the lifeboat of many people in these difficult days. We hope that there will be no more cases like the DDoS attack on EA, not only for the company, but also for the players.
