How to enable iCloud Drive for backing up WhatsApp data
Before backing up conversations, you must make sure iCloud Drive is enabled on our iPhone. Although iCloud backup is enabled, it doesn't mean that iCloud Drive is also enabled, because they're both different.
- Open the settings on your iPhone.
- Touch your name above to enter your Apple ID.
- Touch iCloud.
- Pull the screen down and make sure Cloud Drive is green.
- Keep going down and make sure WhatsApp is also green.
How to back up WhatsApp conversations in iCloud
Now that you have iCloud Drive enabled, you can choose to make a backup instantly or edit them automatically.
- Open WhatsApp on your iPhone.
- Tap Settings, bottom right.
- Play in the Cats.
- Touch Backup.
- If you want to make a copy immediately, touch Make a copy now.
- If you would like to edit your copies, touch Auto copy.
- Choose if you want a daily, weekly, monthly, or do not want to make regular copies.
It's all ready. From now on, even if you uninstall the app, and reinstall it later (mobile change, for example), you can restore your WhatsApp chats, photos and videos.
