In 1996 a curious episode of The Simpsons called 22 short films about Springfield, being one of the best episodes of the animated series. It was a series of short stories about the city's neighbors, but the writers had to select which characters to talk about and he was left out. a powerful Hans Topo story, the most mysterious character in the series. Mysterious because not much is known about this little man who only comes out in very sporadic gags. A few years ago, screenwriter Josh Weinstein shared a page from the draft, but this time he revealed the whole story that was going to appear right after that of Cletus and Brandine.
Hans Topo is a middle-aged man who looks 80 years old. He always carries a cane and is ridiculed in the scenes he stars in. He is not an especially relevant character, but he was going to have his moment of glory in that episode, becoming quite an action hero. Weinstein has revealed this story in which Hans Topo beats actor Rainier Wolfcastle to steal his car. And from there everything rushes because it crashes in a mob meeting, where everything is played in a game of poker. Have a sword fight with his twin sister in a family business skyscraper, but he dies and ends up in the sky. However, the idea was to return Springfield to continue his sad existence.
It's the 24th Anniversary of "22 Short Films About Springfield"
Here, never shown before in all its overly long, insane glory is the full 4 page version of the Moleman segment we cut from the second draft.

The writers discarded this idea because it did not fit the characteristics of the character, although they gave him another small cameo in the history of Apu. The owner of the Badulaque left his post for 5 minutes to attend a party, but when he returned he discovered Hans Mole locked in a fridge. He demands that he return his 4 minutes of life that he has stolen, but he immediately remembers that he would waste them anyway. That is, in the end they reflect the sad life of Hans Topo in the city, while exciting things happen to others. They also cut a story long with Ralph, Krusty and the lawyer Lionel Hutz.
