History is repeating itself and it looks like AMD will bring another generation of processors out of the pile of users where they have to change their motherboard. Mature details are short as they are shorter and more reliable source as XMG company, which we mentioned two weeks ago due to its APEX 15 laptop, the first to introduce the 16-core processor.
AMD opens the door to the B450 chip on the Ryzen 4000, what happened to the others?
It was a branch of the Reddit forum for XMG APEX 15 when the company itself revealed details on the specifications of the said laptop. To clarify, in the texts you can read:
- Certified Socket AM4 and B450 chipset They can support future CPUs for the AMD Ryzen 4000.
- The Ryzen 4000 series is slated to be compatible with the B450 chipset with the update of small code.
Why are they referr ing to this particular chipset? Well, it doesn't matter if the chipset is used by your laptop as they say, so it makes sense that they focus on it. Obviously the best thing is that they guarantee the socks AM4 Ryzen 4000
As has happened then with the Ryzen 3000, the Ryzen 4000 will be backed up by a small coding update and this one has two distinct faces as we first see.
Multiple support is standard, but will the problems come back with updates?
When AMD provided us with processors, motherboards and memories to do compatible updates, we encountered some minor problems with the platform, where there was no way to set up, for example, XMP RAM memory profiles.
When compatibility with chipsets like the X470 is enabled on certain motherboards, it is impossible for us to start a few computers with specific processors and when we do it behind versions, the errors impose certain aspects of the function.
To this we must add some small errors that drag the chipsets like the name B450 in some models, so far that can be resolved either by drivers or by microcode. We know this does not affect all users, but the fact is that forums around the world are stressful and AMD itself has had to introduce its different versions on numerous occasions to reduce the situation and improve compliance.
Ergo, even though it was a small percentage of users suffering from problems, the question hangs over AMD for fear of suffering this and Ryzen 4000. It was under consideration for the introduction of the new socks, there were rumors that it had left the PGA for the LGA due to significant changes in architecture and consequently diverted from what was launched after many years of sponsorship.
If AMD finally confirms all of the above, it will be good news for many and hopefully they will not make the mistakes of the past ruined the image of their substitutes.
