Realme has long decided to start her international adventure away from the OPPO mother-of-two skirts, and since then, we've seen the advent of mid-size models with great value for money. One of the last to arrive globally on the Old Continent is the Realme C3, a proposal presented the scope of the company's global import and it does that with the mind of MediaTek, a triple rear camera and a massive 5,000 mAh battery as its main features.

It was introduced in early February in India, but is now finally sold in Spain. On paper, you have all the right tricks be a good, beautiful and affordable phone. On Xataka Android, we already had the opportunity to test it to tell you how it works in each category and to first-hand check it when it encounters these three "B & # 39; s".

Nice display in an attractive package

Realme C3 02

The first thing that draws the attention of the Realme C3 is its beautiful exterior, with a certain spirit of youth and design that is a product of the brand "Sun Design". At the same time that it delivers an attractive attraction, it has been a matte finish that prevents the fingers and toes. The unit we tested is the red one (according to Realme, "inspired by incandescent lava") and we have to admit that it is very pleasing to the eye.

On the hand, it feels comfortable and ergonomic, thanks, among other things, with rounded edges and polycarbonate shell that, apart from the big battery and the 6.5-inch screen, managed to contain the set weight (195 g) and signal temperature. The back stays perfectly clean, except for the vertical camera position (it exits the body and causes the phone to bite when placed on its back), fingerprint reader and company logo.

Realme C3 08

The screen has a drop-like notch and solid bezels, so that front use is quite large (89.8% according to Realme). As expected from the forum at this distance, the panel offers HD + resolution (1600 x 720 pixels) and a maximum of 480 cd / m2 light, which is generally speaking, providing good view (even outdoors) and the default ambient light (except in dark conditions, where we had to lower it), though slightly blurred as we lowered it and looked at the angles forced.

Realme C3 03

In addition, Realme C3 includes mode to protect multiple viewing and customization options, including the possibility adjust the color temperature (something cold is coming from the factory). Of course, the soft response is not as quick as we would like and the integrated screen protector has no effective oleophobic treatment.

Realme C3 07

As for the audio section, this model has a speaker at the bottom, next to a microUSB connector (a bad point in this sense) and a 3.5 mm jack socket. The sound presented by the speaker is too powerful to say it is best not to raise above 70-80% that they may not be perverted. The headphones were not installed (although important for the radio), so we couldn't test them.

Amazing performance, outstanding battery

Realme C3 Performance

In this model, Realme selected MediaTek and its Helio G70, a 12nm octa-core processor with HyperEngine technology they promise to increase efficiency when playing. That chipset, which is still in our test engine, was compatible with 3 GB and 32 GB of internal storage, albeit different for sale in Spain than 64 GB.

In operation, all of this translates into smooth operation, without any problems when opening and closing applications, or moving from one to the other. We never heard a sudden shutdown or a lag, except at the request of the camera, which blocked several times during the shoot. Otherwise, It is more deadly than proper daily activities and not for the more demanding games, which it is designed for. Here we leave you bench results:

Realme C3 Benchmark

Like authentication systems, it has fingerprint reader (located on the back) and face recognition. The latter surprised us because it applies in many cases, or in cases of darkness. The person who reads the fingers, is slow and rarely sees the finger for the first time.

Realme C3 is one of the first phones in which the company has released its new layer: Realme UI

Now we turn to talking about software. Realme C3 is one of the first phones in which the company has released its new layer: Realme UI. As usual this has its own integration point (multiple customization options and many useful tools) and its scope (most bloatware is pre-installed). In fact, of the 32 GB that our unit has, about 19 GB is free to boot, though we can always use a microSD card to expand it. Third-party apps may be removed, but Realme cannot, and many are double by Google.

Our next stop is, of course, one of the best features of this phone. The Realme C3 has a 5,000 mAh battery It exceeds 9 hours of screen time and is up to two days at a time and medium use. As for the charging system, it supports back-charging to operate as a power bank, but has no fast charging. Of course, it takes less than 3 hours to get a full charge, and 30 minutes is enough to reach 20-22% of the power, which gives us independence for a few hours.

Realme C3 battery

At the first catch, you will see that they appear excess usage data and light screen as the last case is full (over 4 days and over 15 hours respectively). What happens is that, inexplicably, it doesn't reset the counter "to zero" for each full load, but it continues to accumulate. We've downloaded the phone from 0 to 100% more and continue to add data more and more. So, don't take those stats as a reference, but the ones we gave more: about 9 hours of screen time and 2 days of use per case.

Three-dimensional camera

Realme C3 Camera

The Real C3 capture team consists of a 5-megapixel front camera with f / 2.4 aperture and a triple camera with a 12-megapixel f / 1.8 wide sensor, 2-megapixel macro sensor and 2-megapixel camera . through deep learning. Also record video at 1,080p / 30fps and use artificial intelligence use beauty effects or activate HDR.

The camera app is simple and intuitive, with shortcuts to advanced shooting modes (Video, Photo and Portrait) and most useful functions (digital zoom, HDR, filters, color enhancement, background blur, Flash and beauty effects). However, there are some hidden functions in & # 39; More & # 39 ;, to the right of Portrait mode, and, in our opinion, should be more accessible, such as Expert / Pro, Panoramic or Ultra Macro mode.

Realme C3 Dia Image mode

Rear camera behavior in good lighting conditions is acceptable, or in some cases we have seen excessive exposure to flat colors. AF does its job, too, though in short distances he is slow and wonderful. This way, the results we got with Super Macro mode were disappointing, with a lot of noise and a lack of detail. Specifically, it is best not to use it.

Realme C3 Hdr Image mode: HDR off (left) vs. HDR is activated (right)

HDR, while not strange, helps to get some information on backlight conditions, so our advice is to let it turn on automatically, as a color combination. The existence of Expert or Pro mode, which allows us to play with white balance, shutter speed and ISO sensitivity, among other settings.

The beauty of Realme C3 Image mode: Beauty effect minimum (left) vs. Maximum effect size (right)

When shooting in Photo mode, we can change the effect, which, though maximized, does not produce excessive and artificial effects. If we select Portrait mode, thanks to a specific sensor, it is possible too change the backdrop of our passion, with acceptable results. The digital zoom is up to four magnifications, but as usual, our advice is to not turn to them because data loss is taken into account.

Realme C3 Portrait Bokeh View Mode: Domain dimming to minimum (left) vs. Back to top blur (right)

And what happens at night or in low light conditions? AF is slow and inactive, the sound effect is noticeable and the loss of detail is obvious. With photographic evidence, that's fine, but if you intend to take advantage of the night time, you'll be disappointed.

Realme C3 Night Image mode

The same thing happens with the front camera and, most of all, we're talking about only 5 megapixels of solution: during the day, it behaves well, as long as we don't misuse the aesthetic effect, which results in a decline in detail. It is true that a strong distance is not as good as it should be it is often excessive, but the event is saved.

Realme C3 Selfie Dia Original Camera Mode

Here we also have Portrait mode running background blur (bokeh) with software which we can adapt to our tastes, but it is also not recommended to take it to the top because the camera shows difficulty in dividing the front edge of the subject (especially the hair). In any case, the selfies found with this Portrait mode have surprised us well, and on the front camera, we can even feature the beauty in this mode.

Realme C3 Selfie Bokeh Front camera photo mode: Bokeh to minimum (left) vs. Bokeh up (right)

At night, things change, image quality drops dramatically and the sound is visible to the naked eye. That is, if we have a light source nearby; otherwise, forget to get a picture, or an on-screen flash, that burns your face. In any case, it should be borne in mind that we are talking about a 139-euro cellphone, and at that price, we cannot expect quality night-time selfies.

Realme C3 06

Considering that we're talking about the entry-level model for the price of 139 euros and this Realme C3 doesn't stop at any stage, we can conclude that it's a bit earlier another balanced approach. The best notes are available with a design that is pleasing to the eye and touch, a great experience in terms of visual experience, and, of course, independence that will not leave us confused.

The finest notes are available for their design, pleasing to the eye and touch, and their independence, which will not leave us confused

The functionality can be described as significant, although the Realme UI layer comes loaded with additional applications, some of which are double and unnecessary. It's widely approved for their cameras, or, even though they slow down at night and the app has blocked us from time to time, they still offer it good results when light is desirable and are more likely to play (talking about the picture).

In all of this we have to add some weak points (such as the absence of NFC, USB-C port and dual WiFi) and some good points (like splash resistance and integrated screen protector). It wouldn't hurt to put headphones and addresses in the box, however, For 139 euros, we cannot say that it is a bad purchase. The problem, as always, comes because at about 40-50 euros more, we have competitive models that are clearly winning the war.
