"Star Wars" series only provides subtitles
If you want to watch "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" on Disney + today, you will encounter a nasty surprise: the new episode of Season 7 has no German soundtrack. Netzwelt reveals why the "Mandalorian" also runs in English only.
Disney + Friday is usually the date when a new release is added to the series. New episodes of the series, such as "Mandalorian" or "Imagination Story", appear week after week. The same goes for the final season of "Star Wars: The Clone Wars," but fans of the animated series must currently endure the restrictions.
The 9th episode of Season 7 published today, entitled "Old Friends Are Not Forgotten," provides only English soundtracks. Therefore, if German viewers want to continue to watch Asoka Tano's adventure immediately after being released, they must be satisfied with the English sound and German subtitles.
Why is there no German voice?
Normally, the corona virus should be blamed. Due to applicable restrictions, the remaining episodes of "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" cannot be synchronized in time. Of course, the German original soundtrack will be submitted later, but this is unlikely to be expected before the finale of the "Star Wars Day" series.
Disney + announced the unfortunate news on Twitter. They not only confirmed the lack of German tone in The Clone Wars, but also announced their own works, which will lack German dubbing.
Will the "Mandalorian" be affected?
No, the current sixth episode "Mandalorian" can be released with a German soundtrack. The remaining two episodes of Season 1 were also dubbed a long time ago and will be released in German as scheduled.
However, the movie "The Poultry of Artemis" is likely to be the victim of the current situation. The novel was originally scheduled to be released in cinemas and will be released on June 12, 2020 in Disney + in many countries around the world. For Germany, there is no date yet, which shows that people are still waiting for synchronization in Germany.
