Even if Activision is cracking down: the cheater problem in Call of Duty: Warzone is apparently currently not under control. The console players resort to resistance.

And this resistance of the console players is basically called: escape. Because more and more console players are now switching off the crossplay function in order to avoid cheating PC players who mess up their gaming fun. Auto headshots, hits through walls and non-warping weapons are just a few aspects that are used by means of cheats. Reports and videos from the players are now piled up on Reddit.

It obviously doesn't help much that Activision is already fighting against the cheaters and has already banished over 70,000 players worldwide. Quite a few players now require Infinity Ward to generally disable crossplay between the PC and consoles until the developers have found solutions to the current cheat problems. Sometimes longer waiting times in the lobby are accepted.

Banning alone should not be enough, because of course it is easy with a free-to-play title like CoD: Warzone to simply create a new account. We are excited to see if and what Infinity Ward and Activision can come up with on the subject. If cheating gets out of hand, it can quickly be over with the current enormous success of the game.
