We get interesting statements from HAL Laboratory. In a recent meeting with Famitsu, those responsible for Kirby have spoken about the future of the franchise.
The first to do so has been director Shinya Kumazaki, who believes that the latest installment in the series, Kirby Star Allies
For his part, Kirby design director Riki Furman has shared that he would like to do a spin-off of the franchise other than an action game. He thinks the character is deep enough to star in other types of games and perform other tasks.
They conclude their statements by stating that HAL's future goal is to "continue to develop software and tools that match well with the game development team as HAL Laboratory is expanding its field of software development." We will have to be vigilant to see what they surprise us with.
