Since February, the Switch has been facing a global shortage, but the recent global shutdown has put more pressure on stocks.
Nintendo simply cannot replenish inventory at the desired rate, but this is changing. According to Nikkei News, Nintendo ’s suppliers learned that they hope to increase production by 10% between April and June. Having said that, Nintendo will not say how many game consoles it plans to produce during that period.
A Nintendo representative told Nikkei News: "We hope that (the supplier) will be able to respond to the increase in production, but for some parts, the prospects are still uncertain, and we cannot predict exactly how many Switches can be provided."
Given the timing of this, it may take a few weeks before we begin to notice these effects.
