Rainbow Six: Siege is currently releasing the name Y5S2 Operation Hidden Eyes to. The developer Ubisoft itself has so far released only a few official information about its content, but we already know a lot. We explain what exactly here.

What does the new season bring?
With the launch of Operation Void Edge, Ubisoft unveiled the tactical shooter's roadmap for the next two years. They already give a rough outline of the planned content, but do not yet give any great details. However, they want some speakers know what their statements about Rainbow Six: victories in the past often applied. And they also comment on “Operation Hidden Eyes”.
The new operators can do that
So far it is officially known that there will also be two new operators in Year 5 Season 2. The roster is expanded to include a new attacker and an additional defender, who come from Norway and South Africa. It will also be the for the time being last season with so many new additions: For each subsequent one, only one more character is currently planned.
Attacker: Odin, the drone expert
The new attacker is rumored to be Odin: a Norwegian who uses a drone with special characteristics.
- Primary weapon: C7E and AK-12
- Secondary weapon: SDP 9mm and PMM
- Properties: 2 armor, 2 speed
- Gadget: "Spider drone"; can climb walls and drive along ceilings and dig through weak walls. It can also heal allies by firing a kind of healing cloud.
Defender: Philiswe, the attacker brake
Philiswe is from South Africa and is said to be the attacker of Year 5 Season 2. Her specialty is barbed wire, which does more than just slow down enemies.
- Primary weapon: T-5 SMG including ACOG and ITA12L shotgun
- Secondary weapons: RG-15 pistol
- Properties: 3 armor, 2 speed
- Gadget: Smart barbed wire; slows enemies, deals damage over time, is immune to melee attacks, and marks enemy gadgets when touched.

The classic house is being renovated
With House is the first time in the history of the tactical shooter reissued a casual map. It is currently not certain whether it will be included in the ranked pool. The first details were already presented at the Six Invitational in February:
- The first and second floors are expanded.
- The balcony at the main entrance has been removed.
- There are two new ones in the garage and behind the house.
- There will be another staircase.

A new arcade playlist
Arcade playlists are a novelty from Year 5, which is the Change gameplay a little more. In Operation Void Edge, there was the "Golden Gun" mode, in which each player was given a golden Desert Eagle that kills with a hit, but must be reloaded after each shot.
In Operation Hidden Eyes, according to a Dataminer, there are those Playlist »Stolen Goods«. In a new game mode it goes back to the old Hereford Base Map, which is popular with players. Above all, friends of destruction should get their money's worth here.
- Map: Pre-rework Hereford Base layout with the textures of the rework
- Number of players: Three against three
- Map changes: Most walls and floors can be destroyed. In addition, there are no metal struts in these. So you can easily create vertical accesses.
- Target: The attackers must accomplish a number of objectives, such as taking safes and rescuing hostages.

Unconfirmed but possible changes
In addition to these major changes, there are also a number of minor adjustments that have either been leaked or officially confirmed without a release date. Since Ubisoft already showed this in use, it is possible to release at least some of them in Season 2 of year 5.
- Target sights: According to a Leaker, the Russian versions of the target sights are removed and replaced with the standard versions. In addition, the “Red Dot” sight should be made available for all pistols available in the game.
- Tachanka rework: The Russian defender will receive a rework. This has already been confirmed, but there is no date.
- Replay function: You can view finished games again from different perspectives.
- Reputation system: Positive and negative feedback from other players should affect matchmaking. Those who behave well also earn in-game rewards.
- Ping 2.0: You can mark objects like enemy gadgets.
- Map Ban: Before starting a round, players choose one of three maps on which they want to play.

When does Y5S2 appear?
A there is currently no official release date. Originally, Ubisoft wanted to present Season 5 Season 2 at the Season 11 Pro League Finals. That would have taken place on May 17, 2020. However, the event was canceled. So far, the developer studio has not yet announced an alternative event such as a digital stream for the announcement.
Of the Release is initially on the test server called PTR from Rainbow Six: Siege, where you can try Operation Hidden Eyes in advance. There the update is tested indefinitely before it is installed on the normal live server.
