The release of the Wastelander DLC brought a lot of features to Fallout 76 that fans had to wait and wait for a long time. New questlines, dialogues, factions and companions (if only in your own camp) make the game more of a "real" fallout than ever. But that's not all, because the studio already has some plans for the future, as project lead Jeff Gardiner and lead designer Ferret Baudoin have now revealed in a Reddit AMA.
Above all, the developers promise that in the future you might have animal companions at your side during your excursions, or at least in your own base. After the introduction of the new companion system, Gardiner says that this feature is definitely on the to-do list: "Now that we have our companions system in the game, we are looking to add pets as well."
Apart from that, further content is also being planned. So new NPCs should come, but also new storylines and companions for the base. It should also be possible to equip the companions with clothing and costumes in the future in order to offer more individualization. The Brotherhood of Steel could also play a larger role in future story DLCs: "Let's just say the Brotherhood is now watching the wasteland of West Virginia very closely".
Other planned features also include a new Perk Loadout system and an improved system for rekilling that will be implemented in the coming months. It will now be interesting to see whether a new roadmap will be published shortly, which specifies the plans.
