Alien: Isolation is a really good horror
Hardly any title from the alien universe succeeded as convincingly as alien: Isolation, die oppressive horror mood from the films capture. You don't play as a soldier who fights mass aliens with big guns, but as Ripley's daughter Amanda.
She explores an abandoned space station – it quickly becomes clear to her that an alien has caused the crew to disappear. The rest of the game you mainly spend sneaking, hiding and making useful gadgets. Amanda is extremely vulnerable and as soon as the alien detects you, the fragile human being is lost.
The lighting, the settings, the sound, the gameplay – all of these combined to create a really atmospheric horror survival experience. However, we also had to cut back on the Alien: Isolation test. Sometimes the game is really frustratingbecause it's so unpredictable. You have to find out for yourself which rules the alien uses. And learning means in this case: die a lot.
