Unfortunately, shifts are now part of everyday life, and Apex Legends is no exception. The current season 4 has now been extended by one week, i.e. season 5 comes later.

The postponement of the launch of Season 5 to May 12 was announced in the developer blog. Exceptionally, COVID-19 should not be to blame (although it cannot be ruled out that all of our viruses play a minor role). Instead, they want to give players a week more time to replenish their Season 4 Battle Pass or to get one more rank.
As a small consolation, a new event will start tomorrow, Tuesday. The "Battle Armor" event is scheduled to run until the start of Season 5 and provide you with time-limited challenges on World's Edge, where everything will revolve around limited armor.
There is only one type of armor in each phase of the event, which is equipped with a P2020 right from the start when dropping. All armor is removed from the loot pool, but all other objects are still there. It starts on April 28 with white level 1 armor. As of May 2nd there will be blue level 2 armor and on May 6th purple level 3 armor. From May 9th, there will only be Evo armor.
The Battle Armor event is also an attempt to bring a breath of fresh air to the gameplay of Apex Legends. More events and twists are planned for Season 5.
