With Final Fantasy VII Remake already on the streets, the big question about the future of the game is not in how the story will continue, but when it will and how many parts we will have to buy to finish it.
Tetsuya Nomura and Yoshinori Kitase have talked about it to try to shed some light on the dilemma. In addition to promising that there will be no major changes from the original plot, they both claim that they have not yet decided how many parts of Final Fantasy VII Remake we will see in the future.
"We have a general idea of how the story will unfold, but we have not yet decided exactly how many parts it will consist of and we cannot confirm anything either."
Quote from Nomura & Kitase about how many parts the # FF7R will be (slight spoilers):
Nomura: We wanted to have the last boss fight take place at the highway in Midgar, which arises questions that I cannot answer. There is a character who’s alive, which leads to a great mystery. pic.twitter.com/QAxzyzl187

They affirm, that yes, that the main speculations lead to think that Final Fantasy VII Remake It will close in a trilogy, but that depends on the size of each game and the speed at which they want to launch them to the market.
"It depends on the number of parts the story will tell. If we break it down into larger parts, it will take longer to complete. If we break it down into smaller sections, then development will be faster. I hope to launch the next one as soon as possible. "
Square Enix has yet to comment on the launch plans for the continuation of Final Fantasy VII RemakeAs we do not know for sure whether it will do so in the form of expansions that require the original game to be able to follow the story or as isolated games.
