E3 2020 announced its cancellation more than a month and a half ago, and since then practically all public video game events have done the same. Some like Gamescom will be held in digital format, and Gamelab will also follow that line.
The Barcelona fair has announced that this year's edition will not take place physically due to the current coronavirus pandemic. Instead, Gamelab will continue as an online event during the same days in which it was already planned: from June 23 to 25.
Not too much detail has yet been given on how the type of content will be managed, but we do know that Tickets for the main conferences will be completely free, unlike other years. Those who will have to pay will be the developers and other specialized professionals who want to access a type of meeting more focused on networking, although there will be a discount of more than 80%.
As you know, Gamelab is a fair that usually brings some of the best-known personalities in the sector to give talks or workshops. Last year came for example Cory Barlog, director of the last God of war for PS4.
In general it is an event focused on the figure of the developer, in their training and in expanding their possibilities of growth as far as possible. This year we still do not know who the speakers will be, but we will give the conferences from home.
