Yesterday, UK sports sales data revealed the best-selling titles for 2019. FIFA 20 issued first place, with sales of 1.5 million. Nintendo also had a great year in this part of the world, both of them Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Pokémon sword (excluding Pokémon A shoe sales) that makes the cut.
Despite a solid year for Nintendo titles, none of the first team games from the Japanese company have been efficient enough to sell to earn a spot in the UK's top selling games of the past decade. As you may have already seen by now, the game that first featured was Rockstar Grand Theft Auto V
The other list is made up of two other COD games and FIFA's EA series takes the top five places on the chart. That's it FIFA 14 on Friday, FIFA 13 on the sixth, FIFA 15 on the seventh, FIFA 11 on the ninth and FIFA 12 instead of tenth. Unfortunately, sales statistics were not provided by GfK.
1. | Grand Theft Auto V |
2. | Call of Duty Black Ops |
3. | Minecraft |
4. | Call of Duty: Modern Wars 3 |
5. | Fifa 14 |
6. | Fifa 13 |
7. | Fifa 15 |
8. | Call of Duty: Black Ops II |
9. | Fifa 11 |
10. | Fifa 12 |
As already noted here, FIFA 20 was the best-selling video game of 2019 within the UK. Clearly there are no signs of its popularity dropping anytime soon, even after all the explosions last year about microtransaction and loot boxes.
