Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is about to welcome a long-awaited new playable character: Zangetsu, hero of the Bloodstained Curse of the Moon prequel. It will arrive accompanied by the Randomizer mode.
If you have already completed Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and got the "good ending", you can restart a game by playing the demon hunter Zangetsu. Unlike Miriam, he does not use crystal shards, but simply the power of his sword and some special abilities that consume MP. "Playing Bloodstained as Zangetsu is designed as a different experience with an emphasis on fast combat. Consumables, gear, chests, quests, story cutscenes, and crafting are turned off when you play Zangetsu", can we read on the game site.
Regarding the Randomizer mode, it is the replacement for the Roguelike mode promised during the campaign Kickstarter, but finally abandoned because "the code created at the beginning of the game development is not compatible with this type of gameplay", according to the developers. It will add a part of randomness to your game by adjusting eight game parameters (location of saving pieces and key items, quest rewards …). After making your selection, you can generate a code to share your settings with other players. A stopwatch will also follow your progress in the game and display the completion time of your game.
These two free new features will be available on May 7 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, then on Nintendo Switch in late May or early June.
