Windows apps on two major VPN services are installed and downloaded with malicious updates. Apps from other VPNs (CyberGhost, Tor Guard, Hard.me, and Hotspot Shield) have also shown some weaknesses.
VPN applications should provide privacy and security, and as a user of such services, you should trust that they do their job well. But it turns out that this is not the case with all VPNs.
According to an investigation by VPNPro, PrivateVPN and Betternet for Windows applications could see their Internet connection detected and this would have led to false updates.
This false review may contain all kinds malwaredeparture on the horizon in order the keys. That means your users' information may have been stolen, something the VPN should protect against.
In the case of PrivateVPN, there was not only a fake upload, but included without the user giving permission. For Berrett, this permission was requested, but that doesn't mean the user entered it thinking it was real.
Among the 18 other VPNs analyzed, experts found that Tor Guard connections with CyberGhost can also be connected and still be connected to their servers even though they were. You know, they didn't download those weight updates.
Hotspot Shield (belonging to the same company as Internet) and Hard.me also allowed their internet connection to be hacked, but that stopped their connection with the VPN server.
Instead, NordVPN, ExpressVPN, Surfshark, PureVPN, TunnelBear, IPVanish and VyprVPN (all recommended in our selection of excellent VPNs) other ministries did not allow their communications to be interrupted and were not immune to any attacks.
Needless to say, both PrivateVPN and Internet have been alerted to the situation and their requests have been updated and they have corrected the problem. However, we should be concerned that this error may be overlooked.
If you're wondering how to avoid these pests that affect you, unfortunately there's not much you can do. Yes, you should know that these malicious updates can only be posted via public wifi, however in these cases you often use this service.
If you are currently using one of these affected applications, you should make sure you have the latest version of software. Of course, do it when you're connected to your private wifi, as this is very difficult to do is hacked.
On the other hand, it may be time to consider switching to a VPN service that does not use the app. It is a form of Hidden24. It is true that you will not have all the features, such as emergency switches, but it will prevent these security errors from being compromised.
