Usually so quick to catch the slightest leak, and even to unearth things that ordinary people could not see without a little hack, the Internet – and us with – took eight years to discover a sequence of gameplay of a certain Prince of Persia Redemption
It would probably be the episode developed by Ubisoft Montreal for the PS3, the Xbox 360 and the PC which had been thrown into oblivion in 2011. The video in question was posted on March 1, 2012 and has gone completely under the radar until today, find out why.
What is certain is that PositiveLauncher, the channel that aired this God of War-like clip in which the Prince plays acrobats in an eastern city attacked by a very large monster, caught the attention of someone who seems to be well aware. Nothing less than Marc-Andr Belleau, technical director for the studio mentioned above. In the comments, he questions about the source, which can be seen as confirmation that this is a big leak. That we discover with a lot of delay, of course, but a leak nonetheless.
Jonathan Cooper, a Scottish animator who worked for BioWare, Ubi and Naughty Dog, was challenged by this content on Twitter and gave some details.
Wow – haven't seen this in ages. Amazing work from animation director Khai Nguyen (For Honor) and team. This target game footage (pre-rendered game pitch) inspired our own pitch for Assassin's Creed 3 as they did such a great job making it look like real gameplay. https://t.co/U9cy7v4fNp

WOW – it's been a while since I last saw a. Incredible work of director Khai Nguyen (For Honor) and his team. This target game footage inspired our vision of Assassin's Creed 3 and they did an incredible job making it look like real gameplay. Unfortunately Ubisoft has always been quicker to cancel Prince of Persia games due to the fact that Jordan Mechner still has the rights and this has an impact on profits. I would love to have another one anyway. I always wanted a PoP in contemporary Iran.
So it's not gameplay, but it looks like it. So, is it a coincidence that all this appears today? Jean-Michel Complot will see there perhaps a maneuver of the company of Yves Guillemot, to arouse the interest around the mark before, perhaps, a return in the form of this hero who started his career with Jordan Mechner, in 1989. We would just say Jean-Michel to calm down and avoid the 5G antennas.
