Kingston’s gaming division and keyboard manufacturer DuckyChannel worked together to develop the HyperX x Ducky One 2 Mini, a small gaming keyboard that features HyperX Red switches.
The HyperX x Ducky One 2 Mini is what you can call a compact gaming keyboard: 60% more compact than its standard version, to be precise. Space-saving on the desk, this keyboard nevertheless offers a reassuring noise for players, and potentially a little irritating for others: that emitted by the mechanical keys of models intended for gamers. So we find, within the HyperX x Ducky One 2 Mini, Ducky PBT Double-Shot keys, but also HyperX Red linear mechanical switches. These are intended to provide a shorter actuation point and travel time, thanks to a more reactive switch action. According to HyperX, they are capable of handling 80 million keystrokes.
Space saving requires, the number of keys has been lowered to the strict minimum, and most of them have between two and three features. Only the top of the keys is backlit : to configure the lighting and manage the macros, you must go through the Duck Macro 2.0 software to install on the associated computer. Finally, although compact, the HyperX x Ducky One 2 Mini still weighs 599 grams.
This keyboard is available in a limited edition since only 3700 copies will be sold worldwide, at the price of 129.99 euros. For this price, a few accessories will be provided, such as a Duck cap extractor, and a few additional keys, including a space bar. As for the precise release date, we will have to wait a little longer to know it.
