As Nintendo's focus is increasingly on the switch, it may be expected that sales of the Nintendo 3DS family of systems will start to see a sharp decline.
In the last financial year (so that is April 2019 – March 2020), the Nintendo 3DS generated sales of $ 0.69 million, a 73% decrease annually from a full year of $ 2.55 million. Similar to the 3DS software story, only 4.99 million units were converted compared to a full year of 13.22 million (annual decrease of 62.3%).
Interestingly, in its earnings report for the current financial year, Nintendo does not provide any future sales of the program, or its software. It is the first time that Nintendo has failed to provide 3DS weather since its launch, suggesting that its attention is now somewhere else. Indeed, there is no upcoming 3DS release and the console is not mentioned in advertising campaigns these days.
Naturally, Nintendo me provided the Swingch family sales forecast for the plans, predicting that it will change 19 million units in the next financial year.
