Assassin's Creed Valhalla is under criticism. As part of the Xbox 20/20 event, in-engine scenes of the game were shown for the first time, i.e. cutscenes and animations that come directly from the game. But the community expected more. Because the Valhalla teaser beforehand as »Great gameplay reveal« was teased, there is great disappointment.
The trailer’s YouTube presence is currently up and running with over 30,000 dislikes (and only 18,000 likes) – the criticisms are all directed against the false expectations. Almost nobody criticizes the content actually shown, but what is not shown. Valhalla's creative director Ashraf Ismail is now trying to defuse the situation.
"Be patient with us"
Ismail contacts the community via Twitter and asks for understanding.

How could that happen?
That Ismail turns to the community shortly before the gameplay teaser is unveiled can be said direct response to false expectations understand. Apparently, the developers noticed on Reveal Day that people's enthusiasm had been lured with inaccurate promises because either Ubisoft or Microsoft had overemphasized the word gameplay.
Ismail's latest statement makes an impact: People react with a lot of understanding on Twitter. The posting quickly climbs towards the 10,000 likes, the comments are positive. Even God of Wars chief developer Cory Barlog sends hearts.
