The world of Thimbleweed Park has missed a new chapter. The game published by the well-known adventure developer Ron Gilbert Delores: A Thimbleweed Park Mini-Adventure you can now download and play completely free of charge via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
What is Delores about? As the title suggests, players in the mini-branch take on the role of Delores, one of the main characters of the mysterious adventure hit from 2017. She returns to Thimbleweed Park for a short break to get away from her work as a game developer to recover at MMucasFlem Games – a nod to Gilbert's time at Lucasfilm Games, where he created the Point & Click classics Maniac Mansion and The Secret of Monkey Island.
Here you can watch the trailer for Delores that Ron Gilbert uploaded to his personal YouTube account:
But the vacation is not just for relaxation: Delores also works as a photographer for the local daily newspaper Thimbleweed Nickel News, for which she has to complete various tasks during the course of the game – so you have to complete a lot of brain teasers that have already made the predecessor a really good adventure – you can test the main game read again at the following link:

Delores grew out of corona boredom
As Ron Gilbert writes on his GrumpyGamer website, he originally just wanted to revise the Thimbleweed Park engine and improve the user interface – but because of excessive isolation boredom the result was a complete game:
"People deal differently with isolation, fear, social distance and hoarding toilet paper. I built a game. It helped me stay sane."
Several employees who were already involved in the predecessor came on board little by little and helped Gilbert to create Delores with existing graphics, sounds and pieces of music from the original.
