On Xbox Series X, Assassin's Creed: Valhalla at 30fps

It seems that, at least for now, Assassin's Creed Valhalla will run at the same frame rate in all console generations.

Highly anticipated Assassin's Creed: Valhalla I can't seem to take a break. After the disappointment of the non-gameplay trailer and the news that the "Beowulf Legends" mission is exclusive to Season Pass, we now learn of another disappointing fact.

You may recall that Ubisoft and Microsoft did not mention that the frame rate Valhalla will run on the Xbox Series X, although other games (such as Dirt 5 ’s 120fps) also mentioned this. It turns out that, at least for the moment, the game will always run at the standard frame rate of 30fps, even on the Xbox Series X.

Ubisoft confirmed to Eurogamer Portugal that Assassin's Creed Valdara will run on the Xbox Series X at a "at least 30fps" frame rate and at 4K resolution.

"Ubisoft has been working on exploring new technologies and using the capabilities of new game consoles to provide the most immersive experience possible, which is why we are happy to work with Microsoft to bring Assassin's Creed Valhalla to Xbox Series X," a statement translated by Google as follows.

"Currently, we can guarantee that Assassin's Creed Valhalla will run at a speed of at least 30 FPS. Assassin's Creed Valhalla will benefit from faster loading times, immersing players in history and the world. Finally, Assassin's Creed Valhalla Pull will benefit from the improved graphics capabilities brought by the Xbox Series X, and we ca n’t wait to see the beautiful world we created with an amazing 4K resolution.

"In the near future, we will show you more of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, so stay tuned for more information!"

The wording does leave room for alternative modes with higher frame rate targets, but disappointingly, it is not a priority. The ostentatious 4K is not a big selling point in the past, thanks to the checkerboard rendering and other upgrade technologies used extensively on PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, both of which have provided visual effects close to 4K.

At present, we must wait until more details are revealed. Ubisoft confirmed that the "E3 Style" presentation will be held in July, so we will undoubtedly find more information in it.
