The long awaited Streets of Rage 4 It is finally available and many players have already faced the dangers of the streets with the punches, kicks and combos of the different characters. However, other players are still waiting for a physical version of the game.
Specifically, the company in charge of the physical versions is Limited Run Games, but they seem to be taking forever to ship and many players are starting to get impatient with the situation. In addition, the company was involved in a controversy due to the rumor that a European version would be announced, but did not want it to be known because it would be distributed by another company and they preferred to continue selling their Signature Edition
Dotemu has shared the following regarding the situation with Limited Run Games:
Limited Run Games and Dotemu have enjoyed a successful partnership for several years, and we plan to work together on Streets of Rage 4 from the beginning. As with many releases, physical version distribution agreements were reached with various companies throughout development. Those partnerships were primarily aimed at markets outside of the United States, but we made planning mistakes in the process and we want to apologize. To clarify, Limited Run Games was not involved with the other planned physical versions and the timing of the release.
We underestimated the demand from our fans and took missteps when it came to timing and submitting physical releases. We apologize for this, with Limited Run Games and the fans (both theirs and ours) and we will do better next time.
We also want to emphasize that Limited Run Games' Streets of Rage 4 editions are completely unique, featuring exclusive artwork from Artistic Director Ben Fiquet, which won't be available anywhere else.
In compensation for Limited Run Games orders, Dotemu and Limited Run Games will give away a Steam code to everyone who has ordered a Limited Edition, and all Streets of Rage 4 orders will receive a unique 15 track soundtrack CD and an exclusive blend of composer Tee Lopes. We apologize for the inconvenience.
