Last March we inform you that a video game event has made changes to its agenda in view of its celebration due to the coronavirus. It was the TennoCon 2020. As you know, it is the event of Warframe most important of the year. It was scheduled to take place in person the next July 11, but finally it will only be celebrated on-line.
As well, Digital Extremes He has shared a press release with new details about this event and we leave it below:
Canadian developer and publisher Digital Extremes today announced that the purchase of its new TennoCon game packs will support its two charitable partners, Autism Ontario London and The Alzheimer Society London and Middlesex. For the fifth consecutive year, TennoCon from Digital Extremes, the Warframe®-based gaming conference created for its base of more than 50 million players, will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET, Saturday 11 July. Due to the health restrictions created by the Coronavirus (COVID-19), TennoCon 2020 will be a fully digital event, and is now included in the first program of the Summer Game Fest.
Following last year's extended panel streams, Digital Extremes had already planned to expand digital programming in 2020 so more home gamers could experience and celebrate the joy of TennoCon. This year, working from home, DE will stream all TennoCon content live on Twitch, Mixer, YouTube and Facebook Live.
Three new TennoCon packs were designed to let gamers feel the excitement and connection of TennoCon's all-digital conference rather than a physical event. The Digital Pack ($ 24.99 USD) is an exclusive set of in-game cosmetics, items and Baro’s Relay; the Merch Pack ($ 34.99 USD) includes exclusive TennoCon hardware (beautiful commemorative shirt and pin). And the TennoCon pack ($ 54.99 USD) combines both the digital and merchandise packs at a reduced rate. Check the Warframe website for more details.
Because TennoCon is a charity event, a portion of all proceeds will go to valuable partners at Digital Extremes, Autism Ontario London and Alzheimer Society London and Middlesex (ASLM), two local Canadian community-oriented organizations that help citizens who need special care and attention.
"Autism Ontario London is excited to partner with Digital Extremes and bring a greater understanding of Austist Spectrum Disorders (TEA) to the gaming industry," said Kelly Wilson, Chapter Development Coordinator for Autism Ontario London. “In Canada, 1 in 66 children and youth is diagnosed with autism, making autism one of the most common developmental disabilities. It is vital that those living with autism – whether personally diagnosed or caring for another – receive the necessary support to manage the challenges they face. We are grateful for partnerships with community-focused organizations like Digital Extremes that help us provide support for autism. ”
"We are delighted that Digital Extremes has selected our organization as one of the partner charities for TennoCon 2020," said Carol Walters, CEO of the Alzheimer's Society of London and Middlesex (ASLM). “Families living with dementia can feel isolated, overwhelmed, and anxious in normal times, and these past few months have been anything but normal. The need for dementia support services in our region continues to increase and if the COVID-19 crisis has shown us anything, it is the power of the community uniting to help others. We are grateful for this partnership and appreciate the commitment of Digital Extremes to support our work, our clients, and our community. ”
Since its debut in 2016, TennoCon's digital streams, like Warframe itself, have remained free. Players who want to donate during the event can do so through the Warframe Tiltify page, which will be broadcast live during TennoCon, Tiltify.com/.
