Epic Games Confirms Porting of Fortnite to PS5 and Xbox Series – News

About an hour and a half ago, Epic Games unveiled the Unreal Engine 5, which will take over from the Unreal Engine 4 from 2021.

of the engine, giving more details on the latter, we learn that the battle royale will continue its route on the new generation. Indeed, in a paragraph dedicated to the transition between the two engines, we can read that Fortnite will arrive on new generation consoles as soon as they are launched . Developed under Unreal Engine 4, the title will migrate to Unreal Engine 5 from mid-2021 .

We will launch Fortnite, built with UE4, on next-generation consoles at launch and, in line with our commitment to cutting-edge functionality through in-house production, will migrate the game to UE5 in mid-2021.
