Vanguard, the anti-cheat system from Valorant, is frequently criticized. Players are concerned about the privacy and security of the program. However, it already has an effect during beta: Riot, the developer of the tactical shooter, has now exactly 8,873 cheaters banned. Phillip Koskinas, anti-cheat engineer, announced on Twitter:
located a VALORANT universe where there were 8873 less cheaters and moved us all into it, please be careful as your bones may've shifted during dimensional travel

Where are the sources? In this article, we only link to official sources from developer Riot Games, because we don't want to make the various cheat portals known.
More than an account ban
over the exact ban methods the development team doesn't want to reveal anything. Because any information could make it easier for fraudsters to circumvent the measures. Although it is assumed that the cheaters will find out the procedure sooner or later, one does not want to accelerate this process.
However, as can be read in relevant forums, these are probably not simple account bans, nor has the hardware ID been blocked. Nevertheless, the development team is able to use the cheaters across different accounts to recognize. Riot Games himself jokingly explains that the "Souls of the Cheater Banne".

Cheaters are changed
The fraudsters themselves are far from pleased lost their account to have. Many claim to have "cheated only in training matches" to "try out the cheats". One of the cheaters – who has been a member of the forum for six years – explains slightly sarcastically:
"So if you chatted for five minutes two weeks ago and said it wasn't worth it, will you never be able to play in your life again? Well done Riot."
Another user mourns his moneyhe spent on Valorant:
"I put so much money in the crap and then I just get banned. WTF"
Even among their peers, however, the fraudsters come across little pity. They are told that they knew the risk and the locks were definitely justified. There are also doubts that they only wanted to try out the cheats.
Anti-cheat measures continue
Riot himself stated that they will by no means stop removing cheaters from the game. On the contrary: On Reddit, Riot3Ko – member of the Valorant team – says this »Only the beginning«
Valorant cannot afford a massive cheater problem if it is to become Riot's new driving force alongside League of Legends. After all, the shooter relies on being streamed by many. In addition, the game should also establish itself in e-sports. Other titles like Warzone have already lost a lot of popularity due to fraudsters:

To fake bans Riot3ko added that it is possible that cheaters have illegally gained account access. If you are affected and have lost your account unjustifiably, please contact the support here.
Riot not only works to better recognize cheaters, but also the anti-cheat system to make it more user-friendly. At the end of April 2020, the developer released an update that you can use to manually deactivate or uninstall the tool as long as you are not playing Valorant.
