The last time we talked here, it was to let you know that our magic game is real, Kentucky Route Zero, referred to PlayStation. Today, we're super excited to share that the game is finally over, with Kentucky Route Zero: TV Edition to be released on PS4 on January 28th!
If the game is new to you, let's set the trailer theme. Kentucky Route Zero is a game in five acts, which we have been developing and publishing extensively for several years. TV Edition brings together all five acts, plus free & # 39; interlude & # 39; free games. which we did between episodes. Together, they tell the startling story of unrepentant debt, the lost future, and the human drive to find society.
Overnight trips, a small group of unidentified lonely people are pulled together by the scene and take a ride on the back of Route Zero, a secret highway that winds its way through caves and rivers beneath Kentucky. The release of the TV Edition on the PS4 is in line with Act V, the end of the story. So if the game is new to you, it's a great time and you can play the whole story from start to finish.
Many players, however, have been following the project on our side for years, and to those players we want to say thank you for your patience and enthusiasm as we found our way into a confusing, consistent and progressive process. The three of us at Cardboard Computer (Jake Elliott, Tamas Kemenczy, and Ben Babbitt) started work on what would become Act I of Kentucky Route Zero in late 2010 – almost a decade ago!
Our original idea for this project was not a violent, experimental platform. I think the demolition was something like “Castlegumi with deciduous trees instead of fighting, set in the Mammoth Cave.” Needless to say, that is by no means an accurate description of the game from the original prototypes. It has been a great privilege for us to have the time and space to explore our approach to the game, making it real and following our development as artists over the last 10 years.
We'll leave you with Ben Babbitt's new Act V. music and have been with us from the beginning or are joining us now, thanks for playing.
