The Japanese Hamako Mori is already 90 years old, but found her passion in gaming. That brought her one now official entry in the Guinness Book of World Records a: Ms. Mori is the oldest gaming youtuber in the world.
While the official YouTube channel of the Guinness Book already presented the lady on May 8, 2020, she personally spread the news on May 13 on her own YouTube channel and thanked her viewers for this occasion.
What is Hamako Mori playing?
Ms. Mori started to gamble in 1981, at the age of 51. She saw how children spent their free time with the hobby and thought that it looked fun. She now invests between eight and nine hours a day in playing. However, she admits that she is no longer the youngest: her laps used to be much longer.
Her favorite genres are action games, although she initially found them too difficult. She explains that 60-year-olds may be able to play these titles, but she has never met anyone in her age group who dares to play titles like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and the like.
She prefers to play GTA 5: When she starts playing the Rockstar Games title, she can't stop. According to her, not only the graphics are impressive, the whole game is very cinematic and feels like a movie. Recently, she has also played the remake of Resident Evil 3 and Dauntless, among others.

The gaming seniors
Ms. Mori herself regrets that the elderly are no longer playing video games. She believes that it is impossible, especially in her home country of Japan, to get more older people excited about the hobby. Abroad, however, she still sees opportunities.
At least there are some older people who became famous with video games. So for example the 83 year old Shirley Curry, better known as "Skyrim Grandma", who will officially appear as an NPC in Elder Scrolls 6.
There is also the Silver Snipers a whole e-sports team, which consists exclusively of renters who are over 60 years old. Ubisoft even wants to implement their story as a complete feature film.
A slightly different kind of gaming grandma, however, is that Great-grandmother of Doom inventor John Romero. She becomes a playable gangster in Empire of Sin.
