LG is once again expanding its portfolio and is presenting a series of new sound bars at CES in Las Vegas in addition to new UltraGear gaming monitors.
LG uses the new IPS panels for the UltraGear gaming monitors with a response time of just 1 ms. Three models (27GN950, 34GN850 and 38GN950) expand the existing line-up. The 27-inch 4K monitor 27GN950 uses a nano IPS display, 1 ms response time, 144 Hz (overclockable to 160 Hz), refresh rate and hardware calibration. The DisplayPort also supports the new VESA DSC technology for lossless compression. There is also HDR compatibility and G-Sync-compatible adaptive sync technology.

Only the larger UltraGear models 34GN850 and 38GN950 offer even more immersion, which are also equipped with 1ms IPS displays and work with a 160 Hz refresh rate. The 34GN850 also supports VESA DisplayHDR 400. The 27GN950 and 38GN950 models are VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified.
Anyone who likes curved displays will also get their money's worth with the 38-inch Curved UltraWide QHD + Monitor 38WN95C. A nano IPS display with a native resolution of 3,840 x 1,600 pixels, 1 millisecond response time, 144 Hz refresh rate and certification as NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible is used here. A 98 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color space and support for VESA DisplayHDR 600 should guarantee vivid colors and high-contrast HDR detail.
LG's new soundbar models include two winners of the CES innovation awards in the Soundbar category. The premium models SN9YG and SN11RG are recognized for their improved sound quality and ease of use. The flagship model SN11RG is a 7.1.4-channel system with two wireless rear speakers that deliver a forward and upward sound for 360-degree listening pleasure.

In the 2020 series, LG's longstanding partnership with Meridian Audio comes into play. In addition to the company's finely tuned bass and space technologies, which enhance bass reproduction and expand the sound stage, the models also use Image Elevation, which is intended to enable a livelier listening experience by increasing the perceived volume of lead instruments and vocals. In addition, the majority of the 2020 models support Dolby Atmos and DTS: X for dynamic and consistently immersive sound.
A new feature of the premium soundbars from LG is the AI-Room Calibration: By automatically adapting the playback to the specific properties of a room, an optimized sound should be made possible. These innovative models are self-calibrating and able to recognize and analyze sounds, as well as calculate the environment and adjust the output accordingly. When playing content that has been mastered with Dolby Atmos or DTS: X, this technology should offer the user authentic surround sound that seems to come from different directions. In addition, the premium soundbars have a sophisticated processing algorithm that can scale conventional file formats up to almost studio quality.
