We recently reported that there were growing signs of a postponement of the Digimon Survive release. Now, unfortunately, there is God clarity in this regard.
The producer had recently announced in a statement that there were currently internal discussions on how things should go on with Digimon Survive. The title was actually planned for 2020, but that nothing would come of it was already evident in the statement.
Now there is also officially clarity.
The creators – again in the person of producer Habu Kazumasa – have declared via a statement on Twitter that Digimon Survive will be postponed and will not be released until 2021. Fans of the tactical role-playing game in the Digimon universe must therefore continue to exercise patience.
“We originally planned to release Digimon Survive in 2020, but current developments around the world have changed our development timeframe. So we made the difficult decision to postpone the Digimon Survive launch to 2021.” says Kazumasa.

“Thank you all for your continued patience as we work to create a fun and challenging tactical RPG with a memorable story for Digimon fans.”
There is not yet a new release date beyond the general specification of 2021, but Kazumasa is planning further updates on the career for spring 2021.
Digimon Survive was initially announced for the Switch in July 2018 and was originally planned for 2019. It is the second formal delay in the release date.
