Exclusive games have always been an important reason to buy a new console. But Microsoft apparently uses a different strategy with the Xbox Series X.

Microsoft's new generation of consoles is to be launched under the name Xbox Series X towards the end of this year. In the past, launching a new system always included exclusive games to demonstrate the power of the new hardware. But Microsoft is moving away from this concept for the next generation.
Matt Booty, Head of Xbox Game Studios, told MCV colleagues that there will be no titles exclusively for the Xbox Series X for a while. "If our content is released over the next two years, all games will be playable on all consoles, just like on the PC." They want to make sure that everyone who buys a Microsoft console from now until the Xbox Series X starts has made good investments and is provided with software, Booty continues.
Some titles, especially the launch of Halo: Infinite, would like to be used to show the possibilities of the new hardware. Nevertheless, even the new Master Chief adventure will also be available for the previous Xbox One S and Xbox One X consoles.
