During the launch on November 10, Apple outlined some areas where app developers would particularly benefit.
- Some applications are generally available, which means that the most powerful applications are compatible with both M1 and Intel computers. The same type can be used on any Mac, as is the case with Adobe Lightroom.
- For those applications not compatible with new Macs, Rosetta can be used. According to Craig Federighi, even some graphics-based applications perform better on Rosetta than on other Intel Macs.
- On the other hand, other iOS apps can also be used on Mac.
Apple wanted to end its launch on MacOS Big Sur with a video of app developers who have been able to benefit from the M1 and, as expected, ensure that it is faster than ever and much easier to sync with existing applications.
