Capcom has recently admitted that it suffered a cyberattack that left them unable to access their own information for much of the afternoon of November 2. It is now known that one or more hackers have been able to access more than 10 TB of confidential information.
As expected we now have information on various games and possible release dates. Unfortunately, the personal information of virtually all Capcom staff has also been leaked, including their passport numbers and other sensitive information.
Clamp filtration
Capcom announced which is currently working with the competent authorities to resolve the matter and revealed that the information of the players has not been compromised. What can affect business is that we now know part of the company’s plans for 2021.
According to filtration, one of the great games, Resident Evil Village is planned for April, in addition the idea is to launch a demo on all platforms and that it will also reach PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In turn, it was also discovered that the title will have a spin off battle royale with the code name “Highway / Village Online” and that will be part of the RE universe. It is planned for a few weeks after the Village premiere.
Remember that this leak comes from hackers and that they got it on November 2, so they may be sharing wrong information, lying or simply communicating information that no longer corresponds to reality. Similarly, it was a launch window, so the game may be lagging.
In general, you have to take all the information with tweezers, although certainly the rumors already indicated a launch date in the first months of 2021 and that it would also be launched on PS4 and Xbox One. Of course, the multiplayer battle royale thing was not something expected by no one.
