To have such fine hands – rather small but with long fingers – I have a certain devotion to peripherals that are closer to gadget than to subtlety. Give me a rough and heavy controller like the Xbox one, not something more restrained and light like the DualShock 3. With mice it was a bit the same, but the Roccat Burst Pro it has opened my mind.
Coming from a Roccat that has endured more than five years of trotting and was beginning to fail – the click of the wheel had been less precise for some weeks – the possibility of jumping into one of the last mice of the brand was too appetizing a test to miss. After a couple of weeks with him, it seems like it was the right choice.

The design of the Roccat Burst Pro
The Roccat Burst Pro It comes with two large flags to gain a foothold among gaming mice under 100 dollars: mechanical switches and weight. The first is always to be appreciated, even if it only becomes perceptible playing at the highest level, but the second has very pleasantly surprised me.
Intended to introduce us to the fashion of low-weight mice, its interior design offers a honeycomb structure that reduces its weight by up to 68 g. It won’t move if you blow it on, no, but put a good surface under it and it will appear to float as you move it. It is a real joy.
Less content leaves me the fantasy of colors to which his cell structure. With the transparent top, the RGB light inside allows its design to stand out even more, but despite how incredibly good the idea looks in official photos, it feels much more strange live. Less uniform and elegant between the part that rests the palm in front of that of the fingers.
Despite this, it is a matter of taste and, of course, a very personal problem that can be easily solved by going to your configuration program to choose the color that best fits or directly get rid of that possibility.
Lightness, comfort and precision
Coming from a monster like him Roccat Tyon, get used to the more restrained size and shape of the Roccat Burst Pro it has not been easy. I will not deny that I miss a little more structure, a more pronounced drop in the palm and that I am sorry to lose all the buttons I had there.
But time has shown me that with eight programmable buttons I am more than enough and that, despite losing body with the change, the improvements in weight, sliding and cable are more than welcome. Especially the latter, which seems pure witchcraft to me.
My personal situation is this: at the same table I have a mouse and keyboard for the Mac – which I use to work – and a mouse and keyboard for the PC – which I use to play games.
Of all those gadgets, including screens, speakers and other mandangas, the only wireless is the Mac keyboard. Let’s add that my table is far from entering a Reddit style Oddly Satisfying and we already have the cable party assembled.
That jerk you hit the mouse cable every now and then because it got stuck on something or it seems to add weight to the movement? Well, it has passed away. It does not bend, it does not roll … It does not bother, in short, and for someone who is quite repelled by wireless, that is a true marvel. Probably what has surprised me the most of this mouse.
iGamesNews’s opinion
With excellent performance and a weight that makes it a real feather when it comes to playing, the Roccat Burst Pro It is one of those little surprises that end up being much bigger than you expect. It may not have the fame that other companies get, but the Germans must be recognized that its value for money is among the best on the market.
Of course, wanting to see how this proposal of weight and lightness is transferred to more ergonomic mice like the aforementioned Tyon or the Good. If it happens sooner or later, the jump is again more than assured.
