If you are invited as a guest of friends or you have guests at home, you probably know the problem with the WiFi. Often you have to search for the password and once you have found it, you start with the annoying announcements and typing of the number and letter combination. Using a handy trick in Android 10 you can save yourself the trouble.
You can yours WLAN as a QR code. Friends can scan this and get instant access to your network.
This is how you create the QR code
In the settings you have to select the entry “Connections> WLAN”. Tap on the cogwheel on the WiFi you are currently connected to. This will take you to the network settings. At the very bottom of the screen you should see a QR code sign. Tap this to view the QR code. Your guest only has to scan this code with the camera or a scanner app and is automatically connected to the WLAN.
What to do without Android 10
If you don’t have Android 10 installed on your smartphone, there are two options for you. Since you have owned a Fritz! Box, you can go to the fritz.box website under “WLAN> Security”. With “Print info sheet” you can see your data and a QR code. Scan this in and you are connected to the WLAN.
As an alternative, you can visit the website Qifi.org visit. There you enter the name of the network under SSID and the password under “Key”. After entering the type of encryption, usually WPA / WPA2, you can create the QR code with “Generate”.
