Spider-Man Remastered: memory data transfer on PS5 finally possible

Thanks to a patch, it is finally possible to continue your PS4 game of Spider-Man in the remastered version for PS5.

Insomniac Games has kept its word and submitted an update for Spider-Man that allows the PS5 remastered version to continue the game saves of the PS4 version. Both versions received a patch yesterday, Sunday. They also contain some minor new content.

Here’s how you can transfer your Spider-Man save from PS4 to the remaster for PS5:

Download the patch 1.19 for the PS4 version. This not only gives you access to the export function, but also three new suits that were previously reserved for the remaster. These are the Armored Advanced Suit, the Arachnid Rider Suit and the Amazing Suit. After the download you will find the corresponding export option in the menu. You have to use this to be able to carry out the transfer. An existing cloud backup is not compatible with the transfer.

Then you have to install update 1.001 for the PS5 remaster. In addition to the import function, a fix for the rest mode bug is also added. In addition, the quality and performance of ray-tracing reflections should be improved.

If you’ve already sold your PS4, you can still transfer it. In this case, it is necessary to download the PS4 version to the PS5. However, according to James Stevenson of Insomniac Games, it is necessary to restart the console after the patch has been installed.
