Game news The medium: Bloober team discusses lifespan and dual reality gameplay
The psychological horror game The Medium, which was recently postponed to January 28, 2021, tells us in an interview more about its lifespan and its concept of dual reality gameplay, presented in the video above.
The site GamingBolt was able to speak to Jacek Zieba, producer of The Medium. The opportunity to learn that it will take time about eight to ten hours to complete the adventure. The Bloober team promises a “dark and morally ambiguous story” in the skin of Marianne, a medium that can coexist in two places at the same time: in the spirit world and in the real world. It will therefore be necessary to develop in two different worlds at the same time, not during the entire game or if desired, but during about a third of the adventure, as Jacek Zieba explains:
The main idea of the game is duality, which offers different points of view, whether it is the story or the gameplay. Therefore, the dual reality is one of the foundations of the medium. The game doesn’t always show double reality, players will enjoy it for about a third of the adventure. The rest of the time the action takes place in a single dimension: the real world or the spiritual world (…) At certain times, the player can switch from the real world to the spiritual world in certain places. It will not be possible to change the dimensions at any point in the game, as it is designed in such a way that the game mechanics can be unlocked in its own dimension, but also during dual reality sequences. .
As a reminder: The Medium is available for purchase for around forty dollars for PC and Xbox series. It will also be available in the Xbox Game Pass catalog when it is released on January 28, 2021.
