A couple of weeks ago, we had reported a method so that users of PS Plus Collection could access the games in this compiled on a PlayStation 4. As necessity is the mother of all inventions, many PS5 owners took the opportunity to sell “console access” and enable PS Plus Collection For your customers. Of course, this has not done any grace to Sony and they have begun to ‘ban’ the consoles that are in these practices.
It should come as no surprise that the company has taken this action. It’s one thing to lend your console for a friend to log in to their account and enable the PS4 game collection. The other is to use your PS5 to profit massively from the need of others.
Sony’s response is apparently pretty blunt: PS5s that have been used to enable PS Plus Collection for-profit will be banned from PSN for life. Meanwhile, customers’ PS4 accounts will receive a less severe two-month punishment without network services.
This massive wave of ‘bans’ has been concentrated in countries like Hong Kong, where it has been called the “SIE Thanksgiving Massacre.”
There are some questions as to whether Sony is retaliating directly using human employees or whether there is an automatic system in place that recognizes multiple accounts logged in in one day.
What is known is that there are now a good number of brand new PS5s with a value close to a paperweight. Now that they know the consequences, it is better to seek life in a slightly more honest way.
