CD Projekt Red has announced through its Twitter account that Cyberpunk 2077 it will have support for games saved in consoles of different generations. However, if we buy the game on PS4, we will not be able to continue our game on Xbox Series X / S and the same for Xbox One and PS5 relationship.
So only consoles of the same brand will be compatible in this regard, many players will buy the game on the day of its premiere and may want to play it immediately on their console. So later when they decide to buy the next gen they can seamlessly continue their progress. Also, remember that the game is backward compatible, so you can play an edition of PS4 on PS5 and Xbox One on Xbox Series X / S.
Easy solutions
Fortunately, the instructions and steps to follow are not complicated. On the Sony console, you must upload your game to the cloud if you are a PlayStation Plus subscriber. If this is not the case, you can transfer the content using an ethernet or wifi cable if you have both consoles present or, finally, the easiest option is to have your game on a pendrive and take it from one console to another.
Attention console players!
If you start playing #Cyberpunk2077 on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you will be able to continue playing it on a corresponding next-gen console. Here’s how the cross-saves will work:

With the Microsoft family of consoles it will be even easier since basically you just have to be connected to the internet. The Smart Delivery functionality does everything for you and will let you continue on Xbox Series X / S seamlessly since everything is in the cloud.
In this way, the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 is getting closer and closer, only 10 days left to finally see what the Polish studio has been preparing for at least seven years. After so many delays it seems that the hype is still intact, so it seems that everything is served for a great occasion this December 10 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC and Stadia.
