The long wait is over: DOOM Eternal finally makes it to the Nintendo Switch. The digital version will be available for download next week.
What takes a long time will finally … DOOM! On the Nintendo Switch. After the rumor was circulating that Nintendo had decided to discontinue the console port (for the report: DOOM Eternal: Has the Switch version been discontinued?), The demon shooter from id Software will reach the Switch on December 8th 2020.
Everything initially looked like a bitter end for fans of the series and owners of the Switch console. After a long silence around the DOOM port, the physical version on the switch was completely deleted. Gamestop even canceled their order for pre-orderers. But now the fear is over!
Players of the console implementation can expect an exclusively digital version of DOOM Eternal, which will take up around 17.5 GB on the hard drive. The online mode should also be available at the start. Only the first campaign expansion “The Ancient Gods, Part One” (for the report: DOOM Eternal: First campaign expansion presented) will appear on the Switch at a later date, according to publisher Bethesda Game Studios.
