Just a few days ago, it was announced that the Xbox Series X consoles will not have exclusive games for quite a while after their launch late in the year. Matt Booty, Head of Xbox Game Studios, told the MCV the situation: "If our content is released over the next two years, all games will be playable on all consoles, just like on the PC." They want to make sure that everyone who buys a Microsoft console from now until the Xbox Series X starts has made good investments and is provided with software, Booty continues.
According to a report, Sony appears to be taking a different approach and may be launching console-only software that is only available on the PS5. Jason Schreier, usually very well connected and knowledgeable, announced in an episode of the split-screen podcast that PS5 exclusive titles will be available at the launch of the console. Microsoft, on the other hand, should continue to pursue its plan to make its games available on as many platforms as possible – at least in the early phase of Xbox Series X.
