We’ve been waiting for the renewal of Apple TV for a long time and we’ve heard rumors about the news it will have. At the end of last week, a leaked Apple internal document revealed that tomorrow we may see the announcement of new devices. And a leak today, by @LeaksApplePro, suggests it could be a new Apple TV.

Before you see the leak, it’s important to remember what we know so far about Apple’s roadmap to Apple TV. The delay in renewing this device appears to be due to the company reportedly working on a complete overhaul and with several new features, including a redesign of the Siri remote and a game controller. This new Apple TV would come with an A14 chip, or at least an A13, which has the necessary components in mind to move powerful gaming graphics with ease.
The A12Z mentioned in the leak would be a minor change from the previous generation, an improvement, no doubt, but less than what Apple seems to be preparing for spring 2021. In fact, the rest of the tweet matches what you’re waiting: an Apple TV with an A12Z, with 64 or 128 GB of storage, with 4K resolution, but without a remote control redesign and we understand that without including the Apple game controller.
The photo shows the specification label of the PVT, production validation test unit, which mentions the A12 processor, but does not mention its variant. In parallel, several Apple resellers have a somewhat chaotic stock of Apple TV, in particular the 4K model awaiting a renewal which has not just arrived:

One wonders if Apple will continue to sell Apple TV HD and at what price. With the specs that we see it seems very likely that Apple will continue to offer two models: the entry that we already know and the 4K which would be renewed tomorrow.
At the moment we don’t have much more information, but following the rumors of the arrival of new products, the truth is that the renewal of the Apple TV is more likely than other products like the AirPods Studio. or AirTags. These other novelties would be in the spring of next year.
