Josef Fares, developer of Brothers and renowned foe of the Oscars, has become a mainstay of Geoff Keighley’s Game Awards in recent years. 2020 will be no different as it will take the stage to show one of the many world premieres of the night. Anyone hoping to see what Hazelight is up to with It Takes Two is in luck. We’ll get our first look at the game later this week
It’s about to get….interesting. Thursday night, @josef_fares makes his triumphant return to #TheGameAwards stage to present the world gameplay premiere of It Takes Two, the brand new game from @HazelightGames pic.twitter.com/6YGsn7Bzga

As you would expect with a new game from Josef Fares and the Hazelight team, It Takes Two focuses on cooperative mode. The game places you and your cooperative partner in the shoes of a divorcing couple. However, in a strange twist, they both have their minds transported to dolls made by their daughter. They must work together to return to their real world bodies.
It’s an intriguing premise that really opens doors in terms of gameplay. With a much more fantastic setting than A Way Out, Hazelight has a lot of freedom with what players can do. I will say that as a child of divorce, I really hope we don’t have a perfect happy ending. I don’t think Hazelight would do that, but she’s giving me pause anyway. That being said, I have liked all the other Fares work so far. I am more than willing to give you the double benefit until I can see for myself.
