Diving challenges in Tchia allow you to jump off a platform and perform several tricks before entering the water below. You will be graded on the number of tricks you perform and the quality of your execution.
The Tchia map is full of things to do, and while there are only a few of these challenges, the diving ones will test your timing. If you land badly or catch Tchia on the edge of a rock, the challenge will end, even if you have a very high score.

Tchia Diving Challenges Explained
When you find a dive challenge, there will be a board nearby that will tell you the scoring system for that particular dive. you then having to jump from the end of the wooden platform to start the activity and dive into the water.
You can fire rounds as you head for the water to improve your score. You have to be careful where you are and if the movement you want to make will bring you too close to a rock, or if you risk landing badly in the water.
To perform dive tricks, jump off the end of the wooden platform and display what is usually your “emotion” menu (the one that lets you make Tchia do different faces or poses). In the air, the menu will look like this:
As you would to choose an emotion, you can choose a move for Tchia to do as they dive towards the sea. The more actions you perform, the higher your score will be. However, your landing can make or break your dive. If you land correctly in the water, you will get a good score, if you land badly, your score will be very low.
Tips for Getting Gold in Tchia Diving Challenges
Now on the diving boards, there are three different levels on the scoreboard that you can aim to achieve. Bronze, silver and gold. With gold being the highest (and the one you need to complete your journal entry), it’s probably the one you want the most.
As you dive, you can check your score by looking at the top of your screen:
Every dive site is different and it may take a few tries to figure out how much time you have in the dive to complete certain tricks. However, we have a few tips for getting gold that might help you along the way:
- Remember the landing – The key to a successful dive and maintaining a high score is to ensure that Tchia is face down with her hands or feet towards the water. If you leave it too late, it can be difficult to correct the landing before hitting the water.
- Do a combo – A combo can be made by performing three of the four actions in a row without stopping. This can allow you to get a high score very quickly.
- Stay away from the rocks – If you clip Tchia on rocks, your entire dive will be ruined, even if you hit them while in the water.
- Run, jump, dive – The platforms where the diving challenges start are quite long. If you stand near the dash, then run, jump to the very end of the platform, then dive into the water, you’ll give yourself a fraction of extra airtime. This can make all the difference in how much time you have to land enough tricks.
- If in doubt, reboot – If you think you won’t get the score you want for the dive, press your pause button and choose to “restart challenge”. This will bring you back to the top of the diving board and you can try again.
As we said before, it might take a few tries at each dive site to find out how long you have before you hit the water, but hopefully our tips will help you get some gold in no time !
